Hank,

Are you absolutely, positively certain that this story was not penned by Chico and loosed into the ethyr by the fine fellow whose visage graces your homepage?

Michael

Well, lets weigh the options. If the choice is between circumcision or taking toxic prophylactic anti-hiv drugs, or rectally or vaginally administered microbicides, or a vaccine that would definitely cause me to be labeled HIV positive, or taking any of the body deforming, liver destroying, immune system massacring AIDS drugs, I would definitely choose circumcision as the least toxic and least destructive choice over any of the other choices. But better yet, I think I would just run fast as I can the other way if I saw any of the white HIV witch doctors chasing me through the jungle with a circumcision knife, bottles of pills, hypodermic needles, or any of their other primitive means of warding off the evil spirits of HIV and AIDS, while promising to keep me healthy.

George:

Chico, Zeppo, Harpo -- calling Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine.

I make the following declaration:

AIDS doctors are the DUMBEST bastards on planet earth!

Michael,

"...the white HIV witch doctors chasing me through the jungle with a circumcision knife, .."

Hah! I'm laughing my ass off at this imagery.

If I was in Africa, I would wear a sign-- "Hey White Man. Stay the F%@% Away from Me!"

There is nothing worse than uninvited do-gooders with a cause, botching things up and making them worse.

There have been hundreds of points in this debacle that I thought the sheer absurdity would cause it to collapse. This should be one of those points, but I know better now.

I've been accused of Freudian posts before (no problem, actually), but it makes me wonder if the white folk aren't a bit obsessed with dark-skinned folks phalluses. From my understanding, circumcision isn't the norm in Europe. Why aren't we pushing for European men to be circumsized?
