The authors said, "Clinicians should recognize that unintentional overdoses of stimulant medications are an important cause of injury to patients, and they should investigate cardiovascular symptoms of potential concern among patients taking stimulant medications."

In February, 2006, an FDA advisory panel recommended that stimulant ADHD drugs carry black box warnings about the possibility of increased risk of sudden death and cardiovascular problems such as hypertension, cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, and stroke, the authors said.

Hmm. Any of y'all think it kinda strange that the "medicines" we're developing these days cause sudden death, cardiac arrest and stroke? In kids?

Gee, when I was a spaz, my Pa would settle me down with a good ass-whuppin' -- particularly if I was sassy or rude. God Bless that man.

Ithought medicine was supposed to help us, not hurt us. I guess times change.

When I was a kid and acting like I had gotten into the loco weed, my dear old southern grandmother used to remind my rattled mother that "he's just bein' a boy." Of course they didn't have ADD, ADHDD, DAHDHADD or any of that outer stuff. Drugs didn't become popular until the 60's. I think there is a connection????
