SNORTING AIDS AND SHOOTING UP HIV, BIG PHARMA LOVES IT ALL!

TORONTO… A major focus of the conference up here is finally about Drug Use. In particular, was the use of crystal methamphetamine. "Meth is the major driver of the epidemic in the United States" said Dr. Steffanie Strathdee of the University of California, San Diego, at a conference on Monday. Strathdee's research focused on heterosexual users. Yesterday, Amy Drake of the CDC said, "One of the recreational purposes of the use of meth is increased sexual stimulation. It is clear from our data and other data that meth use among men who have sex with men presents a challenge!" Sandra Bullock, of the University of Waterloo said yesterday "It can lead to a self fulfilling prophecy. If we're telling people that using this is going to cause you to do things your not going to do, in can be a built-in excuse."

Now let's just back up right here and take a moment to look at all this. This is all a bit odd, as this drug abuse issue is exactly where Dr. Peter Duesberg had, in no uncertain terms, told the world where to look for the source of the AIDS problem a mere 20 years ago. 25 years ago, at the very same time that gay men began to sicken, just so happens to coincide with the very moment when the Methamphetamine manufacturing began to spiral upwards. While meth may at first make you want sex all the time, meth users can lose the ability to have sex after only six months of use. And national drug czar John Walters notes the physical deterioration meth users often undergo: "Hair falls out, teeth fall out. That's not sexy." After the initial euphoric 'rush,' the behavioral effects include heightened concentration, increased alertness, high energy, wakefulness and loss of appetite. As addicts binge, they typically go extended periods of time -- often days on end -- without eating or sleeping. These binges result in a cycle of physical deterioration that occurs rapidly, much more rapidly than that associated with addiction to other drugs.

Sounds like AIDS to me!

Well Gang, Dr. Duesberg, and all of us contrarian, anti-authoritarian types have KNOWN for 20 years now, that drug abuse IS AIDS. Not a mysterious and elusive virus that the real QUACKS of HIV, cashing in on more chemical laced goo and microbicides would have us believe. Drug use, especially crystal meth, and partnered with malnutrition around the rest of the world, and an unhealthy dose of stress thrown in, IS AIDS. This of course is not meant to let the anti-HIV drugs off the hook, as they too contribute to a weakened immune system and poor health, particularly AZT.

Originally the 'biker gangs' had a stranglehold on meth production, but the process was so simple that one could cook up batches of meth in their own home. All they needed was the very easy to acquire drug called ephedrine.

Germany's BASF is the world's leading maker of pseudoephedrine,  Another is Krebs Biochemicals & Industries Ltd, in India. The pseudoephedrine then fetches about $180,000 for 140 barrels of it when sold to a U.S. pharmaceuticals company, and all of the big pharma companies over here buy and process it and  press it into pills that can clear a stuffy nose. Big pharma is happy to be sure it gets directly into the hands of a shadier clientele for an unknown price and from there, the 140 barrels would be enough to produce $50 million of methamphetamine at wholesale value.

Now these are the forces, the manufacturers and the pharmaceutical company processors and the shady meth makers, that are making big fortunes off of creating and spreading AIDS and the HIV Lie. Even the government has been unable to stop this as our senators and representatives and governments are bought off by the pharma lobbies and unwilling to pass legislation to stop the business. And why would they want to. Big pharma makes money creating AIDS, and makes an even bigger fortune with even more toxic poisons to supposedly treat it.

Why are these fools of public health and government officials still overlooking the obvious 20 years later? Because we have allowed them to. Because we have not demanded better. The fault of this entire epidemic is our very own.

AIDS Experts Mystified by Harmless HIV

So, now the AIDS experts bunglers are simply "mystified" at HIV+ patients who are healthy!

"What in the heck is going on in people that successfully control this virus?" Walker asked a news conference held at the 16th International Conference on AIDS.

Hey, Genius, a 9000 nucleotide virus (genetically very stupid), that barely infects 1 in 1000 t-cells  (practically inactive) is more of a pussycat, than a tiger.

"If we can figure out how people are doing that, we can try to replicate it."

Well, Genius, avoiding poppers on the front end and AZT on the back end, would be a great start!

In other news, the UN declares that food is a basic necessity for fighting HIV. In a related press release, the UN climatology experts declared that the sun is a basic necessity for not just warmth, but light, too;)

A Pill for Every Ill

If you're fat, take Xenical.

And if this fatness is due to excess cheeseburger consumption, you might wanna watch your cholesterol, so take some Lipitor or Zocor to be safe.

And If you're bald, well, take some Propecia

And if you're having, ahem, trouble in the sack, take Viagra

And if all the above is bumming you out about life, take Prozac or Zoloft or Paxil

And, to make matters worse, if your ungrateful kid is a spaz at school, give him Ritalin.

Also, if you have Restless Leg Syndrome  (is this when your legs fall asleep on the bus?), you might wanna take some propoxyphene otherwise known as Darvon.

Moreover, if the drugs start to wear off and you express some Intermittent Explosive Disorder, otherwise known as road rage, well, ya might wanna take a walk in the meadow. Don't know if there's a drug for you yet. Just wait, though.

If you test positive for antibodies to a mystical, magical retrovirus that may or may not kill sufficient numbers of white blood cells, leading to 1 of 29 diseases, you're in good luck! You got a choice of 29 different pills to take! You can mix and match these bad boys, too -- all sorts of different combinations. Hell, the newest Atripla, is the mother of all AIDS drugs -- 1 pill combines all the good ones!

The High-Tech Drug Pushers

Great article in the S.F. Chronicle about how Pharma reps gather doctors' prescribing information to tailor their bribery marketing of gullible docs, and, hence, gullible patients.

Unlike some physicians, Drexler enjoyed visiting with drug reps, and saw them routinely; only in rare instances did he refuse to speak with them. The visit with the Berlex rep that day was typically pleasant. The rep was so friendly, in fact, that she thanked Drexler for all the prescriptions he had been writing for Berlex's pharmaceuticals.

Note the "she." Pharma reps are almost always hot-looking, ditzy, but ambitious sorority babes!

Drexler found the statement odd. He wasn't in the habit of divulging to salespeople how often he prescribed their company's drugs, so he wondered just how the rep knew. Drexler called local pharmacies and asked the pharmacists if they had any knowledge of drug reps gaining access to prescription records. But they were as befuddled as he was.

Then one day, a rep with whom Drexler was particularly friendly spilled the beans. He told Drexler that he and his fellow reps were provided with detailed prescription information, which was stored in their laptops, on every physician in their sales territory.

Yep, that's how it works. You gotta shake those money-makers!

Glaxo Settles Fraud Claim for $87 Million!

Yep, the boys at GSK -- GlaxoSmithKline -- just paid some serious sheckels --$87 Million -- to settle some serious fraud claims in connection with bogus medicare payments.

According to Supervising Deputy Attorney John Krayniak, Office of Insurance Fraud Prosecutor's Medicaid Fraud Section, Glaxo avoided higher rebate payments by re-labeling or re-packaging certain drugs under private HMO labels. For example, under a private labeling agreement with California-based HMO Kaiser Permanente, Glaxo manufactured, packed and shipped Flonase to Kaiser, substituting Kaiser's identification number for the Glaxo identification number. The result of the private labeling arrangement was to allow Kaiser additional price discounts on Flonase without having to report the discounted price as Glaxo's "best price," thus allowing Glaxo to avoid paying higher rebates to the state Medicaid programs.

Now, no sane person can figger out most of this jive. And, truth be told, $87 Mill ain't a whole lotta money for a billion dollar behemoth. Of course, who gives a flying crap about Flonase -- y'all should be looking into AZT!

But, of course, fraud is fraud --  and we're always delighted to expose some of these rascals!

Signs of Civil War Erupt at Toronto AIDS Conference // John P. Moore - The Dissidents' Best Friend

The AIDS Conference in Toronto Canada opened today. Melinda Gates was one of the opening speakers, and strangely had nothing to say about HIV drugs. She did say she would like to see the research and production of microbials and oral preventatives that women can protect themselves from disease with, put into full speed forward research. Canadian Conference co-chair Dr. Mark (Put Duesberg and all the Denialists in JAIL) Wainberg, who also is the proud owner of HIV Drug Patents, was naturally back to his standard dope dealer routine. "One goal of the conference is to make sure drugs are available to those who need them around the world, regardless of ability to pay", he said.  Prime Minister Stephen Harper has said he will not attend the six-day conference because of other commitments, a decision that will thrill Re-Thinkers, but has rankled and baffled organizers, researchers and AIDS activists - not just in Canada but elsewhere in the world. Clement and Minister of International Co-operation Jose Verner are representing Canada. Perhaps Minister Harper (I love the name Harper, reminds me of a magazine article I read a few months back) is another one of the few leaders of a country to see through the thin veneer of HIV/AIDS pseudoscience.

There was an astounding amount of lackadaisical attitude on the part of the inhabitants of Toronto. Strangely, the only banner of notice was for the International Dragonboat Festival that had ended today. No red ribbons in the Park. Nothing advertised on the subway. There were newspaper accounts in the local press, but that was pretty much the only notice that the fair city was being descended upon by 25,000 HIV worshippers.

has helped us all to further disseminate HIV Dissenter’s information to the world press today. Every time he opens his mouth, or puts keystroke to computer he either sells HIV Dissenter’s books, promotes HIV Dissent magazine articles, or further informs the world of the importance of HIV Dissent issues. 

Witness:This mornings first session,  co-chaired by John P. (I Hate The Denialists) Moore, was about press coverage. It was called the HIV Science and Responsible Journalism session. 

His message was the same old song; he hollers something to the effect of “Look at those damn AIDS denialists, No, don’t look at them, you’ll turn to stone”, in a bit of a falsetto shrill, of AIDS denialism kills and all of us AIDS Denialists should be cooked slowly over a picnic barbecue. He ranted about the abuse of science (he should know, he is to be considered an expert in abusing science), he droned on about the rethinkers not getting through the thick walls of Media Censorship to publish any of their own work in peer-reviewed journals like Science, Nature, the Lancet, etc. And naturally, he screamed that we are pure liars, with HIV Dissenter’s well-proven claims that AZT is one of the world's most toxic chemicals.   

It is always a pleasure to hear Dr. Moore uttering words such as AZT IS ONE OF THE WORLDS MOST TOXIC CHEMICALS”, if only he would leave out the rest of his driveling untruths.

Naturally, Nathan Geffen, policy coordinator for Treatment Action Campaign in South Africa, joined Moore in his screed filled screech in touting the AIDS(un)TRUTH website as the only responsible place for journalists reporting on HIV/AIDS to get the proper brainwashing. Strange, cause the only truth I could find on his site, was the words of Dr. Bialy, and the link to Harpers! Both Moore and Nathan Geffen, policy coordinator for Treatment Action Campaign in South Africa, plugged AIDS Truth as a means for journalists reporting on HIV/AIDS to get reliable information.

A civil war began to erupt, when the panel discussion, which included such un-notables and unquotables as Marilyn Chase with Wall Street Journal, Tamar Kahn, science and health editor at South Africa's Business Day, and Kim Honey, health editor at the Toronto Star, opened up a debate over whether journalists should challenge scientific consensus. For some strange reason, Geffen opposed it, and naturally, planted-into-the-audience, was Lancet chief editor Richard Horton who begged and pleaded for journalists to rise up to honk only on the Propaganda Horn. He accused journalists of being far too polite, of listening to the dissenting views of us damn denialists, and daring to print HIV Dissenter’s heretical words, because we are far too often invited to speak on the world's stage. Strangely he asked, “Isn't our job to keep the public informed about fact, not fiction?” 

Well, I would certainly agree, and I hope he gets with the program sometime soon. Perhaps we should all give John Moore, Nathan Geffen, and Richard Horton, HIV Dissenter’s very first Honorary “Question Orthodox AIDS” Ribbons, when the  conference ends. That is the only way I think they could benefit AIDS dissent more than they already have.

AIDS World:Where Up is Down, and Down is Up

So, the AIDS experts bunglers claim 2 things: (1) HIV causes disease and (2)AZT mitigates the disease.

Fine. Good claim. Sounds plausible. Let's test this on some of our fellow primates and rodents.

1. HIV to Chimpanzees

So, what do the experts say about injecting the "deadly" virus into chimps?

"It is true that HIV does not cause AIDS in chimpanzees." (Gallo, Blattner, Temin, Science, 1988 Jul 29; 241: 515-516.) By the way, that's Nobel Laureate Howard Temin.

So, HIV has allegedly killed 40 million humans over the past 25 years, but not one solitary chimpanzee? Hmmm. Sounds kinda fishy.

2. AZT to Mice

Well, maybe the virus has special properties. Just because chimpanzees share 98% of human DNA, don't mean a damn thing. Hell, maybe the chimps have immune systems that have evolved better than ours.

So, what do the experts say about the side effects of AZT when given to mice?

"At 1 year of age, the offspring of AZT-treated mice exhibited statistically-significant, dose-dependent increases in tumor multiplicity in the lungs, liver, and female reproductive organs. "(Olivero,Tranplacental effects of 3'-Azido-2',3'-Dideoxythymidine (AZT): Tumorigenicity in Mice and Genotoxicity in Mice and MonkeysJNCI, 1997, VOL 89; 1602-1608.

Hmm. So, the medicine used to treat pregnant mothers is a carcinogen?!!?

Lemme get this straight:

1. They infect chimps with HIV  -- and nothing happens.

2. They inject pregnant mice with AZT -- and the baby mice get cancer.

Don't that seem kinda backwards? Ain't the virus supposed to kill, and the medication supposed to heal?

Well, I guess that's par for the course in the strange realm known as "AIDS World."

"Right now, our government is not terribly interested in making any reforms that would be useful, because they’re so beholden to drug companies," said Dr. Jerome Hoffman. "We have to have the clout, influence and the organization to make it so that they can’t blithely go along making the FDA be something that has been widely and famously called a servant of the drug industry. We have to make the FDA a servant to us."

So, the FDA is incompetent -- like Barney Fife in charge of San Quentin -- while Big Pharma goes around maiming its own research subjects /slash paid human guinea pigs and pimping its toxic snake oil to the rest of us. How quaint.

The Padian Waffle!

Some of the usual knuckleheads at another site have posted a little piece on our favorite epidemiologist, the ditzy Dr. Nancy Padian:

One of the more egregious myths perpetrated by AIDS denialists is that HIV is not heterosexually transmitted. Part of the "evidence" that underlies this myth is a 1997 paper by Dr. Nancy Padian and her colleagues at the University of California, San Francisco (Padian NS, Shiboski SC, Glass SO, Vittinghoff E. 1997. Heterosexual transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in Northern California: results from a ten-year study. Am J Epidemiol 146, 350-357) (1). The denialists either misinterpret or misunderstand this paper. Some internet sites/Blogs even go so far as to suggest that the "HIV/AIDS establishment" (sic) finds Dr. Padian's work inconvenient and has suppressed it, to the detriment of her professional career. The following commentary from Dr. Padian addresses HIV heterosexual transmission, discusses what her seminal 1997 paper does actually say and, ipso facto, speaks to the absurdity of the notion that her work has been suppressed, or is inconvenient to other AIDS researchers.

Isn't it funny how these stooges cannot even address the salient facts of the Padian paper? In fact, few of 'em ever even heard of the paper, until, ahem, yours truly started beating 'em over the head with it at Tara Smith's blog.

Then, these jokers trot out ditzy Nancy to pontificate a bit:

HIV is unquestionably transmitted through heterosexual intercourse. Indeed, heterosexual intercourse is now responsible for 70-80% of all HIV transmissions worldwide

Hmm. That's quite a bold statement, Nancy. Have epidemiological studies in the USA backed this up?

A common practice is to quote out of context a sentence from the Abstract of the 1997 paper: "Infectivity for HIV through heterosexual transmission is low".

Well, that's because infectivity for HIV is low. You estimated 1/1000 sex acts for a woman to get it from an infected man, and 1/10,000 for a man to get it from an infected woman. But,here is my absolutely favorite part:

"That we witnessed no HIV transmissions after the intervention documents the success of the interventions in preventing the sexual transmission of HIV"

So, lemme get this straight. You observed hundreds of discordant HIV+ couples for 6 years, having kinky sex of all types -- and NOT ONE, SINGLE, SOLITARY PERSON CONTRACTED THE VIRUS?!!?

Ok, that sure is an "inconvenient truth" as Al Gore might say. But, that doesn't deter the AIDS zealots -- they PREVENTED infection with all their wonderful interventions, where condoms had a whopping, majestic, infallible success rate of 100%!!! Er, no: Ditzy Nancy forgot an important paragraph in her own paper:

"Nevertheless, the absence of seroincident infection over the course of the study cannot be entirely attributed to significant behavior change. No transmission occured among the 25 percent of couples who did not use condoms consistently at their last follow-up nor among the 47 couples who intermittently practiced unsafe sex during the entire duration of follow-up" (Padian, pg 356.)

Ooops!!!

Here's the bottom line on the Padian Paper:

1. It was the largest and longest epidemiological study of heterosexual transmission of HIV in America. (Padian, pg 354.)

2. Not a single person in the prospective study contracted HIV, despite lots of sex with HIV+ individuals. (Padian, pg 354.)

3. A significant portion did not wear condoms consistently, including 47 couples whom Nancy described has having "unsafe sex." I repeat:

Nevertheless, the absence of seroincident infection over the course of the study cannot be entirely attributed to significant behavior change. No transmission occured among the 25 percent of couples who did not use condoms consistently at their last follow-up nor among the 47 couples who intermittently practiced unsafe sex during the entire duration of follow-up" (Padian, pg 356.)

I'm sorry, Nancy, since nobody got HIV, what was so "unsafe" about the sex again?

In sum, the scientific facts of this large study decimate the purported link between HIV transmission and sex. More so, even if trivial amounts of HIV can be infrequently transmitted sexually, it surely doesn't account for the "epidemic" of 1 million people in the US who have HIV per the CDC.

A Parable by Hank

I have a nice garden in the back. Petunias, begonias, carnations. But during these dog-days of summer, it ain't looking so hot. What's the cause?

1. Is it a failure to properly water? or

2. Is it a failure to use copious amounts of "weed killer"?

If you think the problem is 2, but in truth, the problem is 1 --- well, too much "weed killer" will eventually kill all the nice flowers.

If you think the problem is 1, but in truth, the problem is 2 --- well, you might grow some healthy flowers, but they might be wrecked with weeds.

If you think the problem is a combination of 1 & 2 --- well, you gotta use your best "green-thumb" judgment as to the proper amounts of each: mebbe some more water, mebbe a little weed-killer every now and then.

However, If the problem definitely ain't 2 --- then no amount of "weed-killer" is gonna make the garden better.
