Hank, great description on how science "should" work. I checked out wiki and this is what I was told on the (discussion page) concerning the misconduct of Robert Gallo: "This certainly would not be considered an example of scientific misconduct by the scientific community in general, since the number of scientist that question the HIV/AIDS link is very small".

Since when did a certain number have to be on board for something to be truthful? Maybe someone should have told that to Galileo, Einstein, Columbus, etc. I don't think that new worlds will be conquered by everyone thinking alike.

I added Gallo. Fortunately his misconduct was at least mentioned in the actual article about him, so adding the link was no big deal.
