Well, our friends in the Pharmaceutical and Science industries ain't havin' such a good week.
First, we have allegations that Glaxo cheated (massively) on their taxes. Last year, the NY Times reported the Feds were seeking $7.8 Billion(!) in back taxes. This year, Glaxo threw in the towel and paid -- get this -- $3.4 Billion dollars -- the largest tax dispute in history!
Next, we have the case of Dr. Thomas Walsh, cancer researcher of the NIH. Oops, seems like Doc Walsh got his hand caught in the cookie jar -- taking $100,00 from various pharmacueticals without disclosing. Can you spell "conflict of interest?"
An internal review of the National Institute of Health last year concluded Dr. Thomas J. Walsh had committed "serious misconduct" that could lead to his dismissal, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing the confidential report.
Oh, that would be terrible;)
Ain't it fun to root out these incompetent, corrupt scientists!
More sad that fun, fun too.
