The currently most profitable AIDS drug is now Truvada, made by Gilead. I would love to know how much their CEO is getting paid, as well as his relationship to George Bush.
The former CEO of Gilead was Donald Rumsfeld. He was CEO until he joined with Bush as Secretary of Defence in 2001. He is still a major stockholder.
So is Bush's former Secretary of State, George Shultz was a member of the board of directors of Gilead Sciences from January 1996 to December 2005. He is also a large stockholder.
Certainly no wonder, with at least these two whispering in his ear, no wonder at all that Bush was so happy to grant 50 billion more dollars for AIDS drugs, to add to his prior 15 billion dollar donation from US taxpayers.
And it comes with a catch. Drugs bought with the money must be purchased from American drug manufacturers.
I wouldn't doubt that George Bush himself has Gilead in his supposedly unseen and unknown stock portfolio.
